LESS IS MORE

A recent study found that teens who get a small amount of screen time, between 1-5 hours per week, are happier than ones who used screens for 20+  hours per week.

7 HOURS

The average child spends 7 hours a day in front of a screen, but only 4-7 minutes playing outdoors.

80% OF TEENS

use their phones when they are supposed to be sleeping – including many who stay up most of the night or wake for every notification.

EPIDEMIC RATES

Despite our community often being ranked the #1 best US city for families in national reports, teen suicide rates are climbing at an epidemic pace.  Johnson County has seen almost twice as many completed teen suicides the first three months of 2018 as it did in 2017, with 2017 counts being double what they were in 2016.
